Advanced X-Ray Systems Division

The Advanced X-Ray SystemsAdvanced X-Ray Systems division is a newly established division as part of Vehant Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Its mission is to build a talent pool of expertise in India to establish a design house to create the next generation of Security Baggage Scanners with novel geometries. The organization has a clear and long term strategic vision for the division that revolves around establishing itself as an innovative player in the security scanning domain and is committed for sustainable strategic technology development to propel industry leading solutions with a vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat – Make in India for the World.

We intend to create a very lean yet agile team of professionals to co-conceive of and co-create the next generation of Advanced X-Ray Systems in the baggage screening sector of security screening applications. We are actively hiring for technical resources spanning a wide range of specialties connected to X-Ray/CT technology backgrounds including but not limited to Systems Engineering, Image Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering., Firmware design, Software designs and architect, High-performance compute algorithm designers, and UI/UX designers. The overall activities would begin with conceptualization and culminating in engineering product design including DFX (Manufacturing/Service/Reliability.). Technology development would encompass a wide array of domains spanning X-Ray physics, Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Twin designs, rapid prototyping, signal processing, image generation chain and experimental data analytics and research.

Role/Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Engineer, in Advanced X-Ray Systems division at Vehant Technologies in Bengaluru. The Electrical Engineer shall be responsible for designing and developing electrical system architecture, leading system integration, and ensuring system reliability and performance for baggage screening for security applications. The role requires expertise and knowledge in electrical Systems architecture. It involves detailed assessment and finalization of requirements, DFX (requirements, reliability, performance, life, sourcing, manufacturing, servicing, prognostics), conceptualization and creation of design platforms using current state-of-the-art component and systems engineering and overseeing the whole technical design process from design and development to verification and validation to production and post-market monitoring to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• BE / B-Tech. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with a strong systems engineering mindset and excellent documentation skills.
• System electrical architecture, design, integration and testing skills
• Knowledge of working principles and safety with X-ray Systems is a plus
• Understanding of signal integrity in high-noise environments
• Ability to understand system level requirements and translate into sub-system design requirements
• Experience in motion control using different types of drives, precision positioning and speed control
• Experience in working with high voltage systems and power distribution, control and safety
• Experience in transfer of power using slipring is a plus
• Experience in designing and working with large industrial machines
• Ability to handle hands-on work on hardware, with an experimental mindset.
• Ability to effectively develop technical specifications, test verification plan and validation strategies as part of the design creation process.
• Ability to oversee the systems development from prototype to validated design for production readiness
• Experience with EMI/EMC compliance testing and debugging, safety testing (CE, UL, BIS).
• Ability to create, route and document wiring harnesses
• Awareness of isolation principles and electrical safety
• Design of HAST and reliability test setups and modes to predict reliability, MTBF and life
• Management of Systems installation from an electrical perspective
• Electrical Characterization of equipment, components and subsystems
• Working with vendors to develop testing jigs and fixtures
• Managing design transfer and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant Quality system documents.
• Skilled at identifying how issues manifest at a systems level and link to their underlying causes at sub-systems and their interactions
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Previous experience in R&D or product development with strong hands-on experience on technical design journey from conceptualization to market launch is a must
• Must demonstrate willingness to constantly learn and adapt to growing needs of the domain with a growth mindset
• The role requires strong teamwork and the ability to mentor and work collaboratively in a team effectively to deliver to the assigned deliverable goals as a single cohesive unit

Travel Note

This role while stationed in Bengaluru would entail travel to Vehant Technologies headquarters in Noida on a need basis. The travel percentage is indicative only and can be subjected to change based on organizational requirements.
