The Advanced X-Ray Systems division is a newly established division as part of Vehant Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Its mission is to build a talent pool of expertise in India to establish a design house to create the next generation of Security Baggage Scanners with novel geometries. The organization has a clear and long term strategic vision for the division that revolves around establishing itself as a innovative player in the security scanning domain and is committed for sustainable strategic technology development to propel industry leading solutions with a vision of AtmaNirbhar Bharat – Make in India for the World.

We intend to create a very lean yet agile team of professionals to co-concieve and co-create the next generation of Advanced X-Ray Systems in the baggage screening sector of security screening applications. We are actively hiring for technical resources spanning a wide range of specialties connected to X-Ray/CT technology backgrounds including but not limited to Systems Engineering, Image Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Firmware design, Software designs and architects, High-performance compute algorithm designers, and UI/UX designers. The overall activities would begin with conceptualization and culminating in engineering product design including DFX (Manufacturing/Service/Reliability). Technology development would encompass a wide array of domains spanning X-Ray physics, Model-Based Systems Engineering, Digital Twin designs, rapid prototyping, signal processing, image generation chain and experimental data analytics and research.

Role/Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Technician, in Advanced X-Ray Systems division at Vehant Technologies in Bengaluru. The Senior Technician shall be responsible for installation, assembling, servicing, preventive maintenance upkeep and regular overseeing of all on-premises lab related activities. The labs would include a combination of mechanical, electrical, firmware and X-ray systems that would be a combination of research prototypes and engineering proof-of-concept equipment for baggage screening for security applications. The role would require expertise and experience in management of equipment, creation of safe operating procedures (SOP) and work instruction drafts and adherence to them on a daily basis. The role involves detailed assessment and drafting of safety related procedural op-mechs for personnel and assets. This role is a hands-on operational role to manage alignment, calibration of X-ray and CT systems with an ability to work with engineering for a smooth transition of design guidelines and procedures to manufacturing and service. The responsibilities would continue into assisting production and post-market service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

• ITI or equivalent with an experience of at least 8 years working in research/engineering labs on complex mechanical/electrical/electronic system installation, setup, maintenance and upkeep with good hand-on working knowledge of safety procedures.
• Needs to have the ability to follow procedures anddocumentation
• Knowledge of working principles and safety with X-ray Systems is a must
• Must be a trained radiation qualified worker
• Must adhere to Safety and Quality policies of the organization to ensure a safe work environment in the Labs
• Ability to safely handle heavy suspended mass, high tonnage rotating parts, high-voltage electrical handling, ESD sensitive electronic components and boards.
• Knowledge of PPE, LOTO for working on highly energized systems and hazard control is a must
• Experience with CT Systems with full knowledge of gantrybuilding, end-to-end know-how of mechanical assembly and electrical wiring would be desirable
• Ability to work safely with independent execution under minimal guidance is a must
• Strongcommunication and teamwork abilities
• Data collection facilitation would be a significant component of the responsibilities, scanning and collecting data for different scenariosfor experimental analysis, design improvement and regulatory needs.
• The candidate needs to be a quick learner onnew software, developmental tools, utilities  
• Knowledge and familiarity of working in multiple OS environments. Familiarity with Linux OSis a must.
• Previous experience in CT R&D or product development with strong hands on experience on technical design journey from conceptualization to market launch is desirable
• Ability to perform testing of X-ray or CT equipment is desirable
• Ability to adapt and learn new procedural requirements for custom experiments as required by Research needs of engineering is a must
• This is a senior role and the candidate must possess and demonstrate an attitude to freely share knowledge, train andmentor other members in the team.
• The role requires the ability to manage, mentor and lead a team effectively to deliver to the assigned deliverable goals as a single cohesive unit

Travel Note

This role while stationed in Bengaluru would entail travel to Vehant Technologies headquarters in Noida on a need basis. The travel percentage is indicative only and can be subjected to change based on organizational requirements.
