Opening doors to think what nobody else has thought

Vehant’s Research Laboratory is guided and funded directly by the top management. Vehant Technologies aims to create a vibrant in-house ecosystem and strong collaboration, in order to sustain the company’s growth.

  • Build a strong research ecosystem within the company for development of future products and solutions.
  • Create and build research collaboration with academic Institutions and researchers for mutual as well as society’s benefit.

The broad outcome of Vehant’s Research Laboratory is to generate the know-how for Vehant’s products and filing patents. The Lab shall clearly identify the deliverables for the research group and establish assessment of research work clubbed with incentives on the basis of deliverables. VRL shall collaborate with academic and research institutions with an objective to fund the research.

Dr. M. Balakrishnan

Advisor, Vehant Research Labs

He is fellow ACM inducted in 2022. He received Lifetime Award in January of 2020, issued by Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He was awarded Eugene L Lawler Award in 2019 by ACM for humanitarian contributions within Computer Science and Informatics. His areas of interest are embedded system design, and assistive technologies.

Dr. Renu Rameshan

Lead Research Scientist, Vehant Technologies

Dr. Rameshan holds more than 20 publications to her credit including books, article journals and conference proceedings. She has co-authored numerous articles with her expertise in Artificial Intelligence. With rich experience of 8 years in teaching and research at IIT Mandi, she joined Vehant to lead the research team at VRL and contribute to our technical academia corporate alliance.

Dr. Samar Agnihotri

Lead Research Scientist,

Associate Professor, School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, IIT- Mandi

Dr. Agnihotri has been with IIT Mandi since 2012, where he is currently an associate professor in the School of Computing & EE. He obtained PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore in 2009, in Electrical Sciences.
Dr. Agnihotri’s research interests encompass Communication Networks, and Distributed compression and computation.

Dr. Shikha Gupta

Research Scientist, Vehant Technologies

Dr. Gupta has worked with Samsung Research Institute, TCS Research lab, and few Govt. projects. Her research interests lie in the field of machine learning, pattern recognition, and computer vision. Her research work has been disseminated in several journals and conferences, including IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, IJST, ACM TOMM, ICASSP, EUSIPCO, IJCNN, and ICONIP, etc. Currently, she is actively working towards the field of video analytics in surveillance scenario. With her rich corporate experience, Dr. Gupta joined our research analysts’ team to design Vehant’s video analytics solutions.

Dr. Krishan Sharma

Research Scientist, Vehant Technologies

Dr. Sharma is working as a Research Scientist-I at Vehant Technologies. His research interests lie in the field of machine learning, signal/image processing, computer vision, and mathematics. His research work has been disseminated in several journals and conferences, including IEEE TNNLS, Elsevier JVCI, ACM ToMM, ICASSP, EUSIPCO, SPIE medical imaging and ACPR. With his rich experience and expertise in machine learning and signal processing, Dr. Sharma’s work at Vehant comprises image processing and computer vision research problems for security applications.

IIT Delhi

Vehant intends to build a strong research ecosystem by collaborating with academia. The objective is to strengthen the R&D abilities of the company in pursuing new opportunities in futuristic technology trends, through student fellowships, internships and consulting faculty members. Vehant’s research team collaboratively works with faculty and students of IIT-Delhi.

IIT Mandi

Vehant Technologies signed the MoU with Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi and we are executing the collaboration successfully for 2 years, leading the Vehant Fellows to work on the problems full time from the office. Vehant’s researchers collaborate with the researchers of IIT Mandi with mutual interest on developing enhanced applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies in security screening solutions. Dr. Venkata Krishnan, Dean Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy & International Relations (SRIC & IR), IIT Mandi, said, “This program will mutually benefit both the stakeholders in terms of acquiring technology competence and academic excellence in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This initiative will help us in addressing the unique industry problem statements while ensuring real time technical exposure to our students.”

We are delighted to unveil our latest achievement, a strategic partnership with IIT Jodhpur, marking the fourth significant milestone in our history of industry-academia collaborations after IIT Mandi, IIT Delhi & IIIT Delhi. The signing of this partnership has garnered high praise from Professor Surajit Banerjee, Dean of (IR, AR & CR), IIT Jodhpur, and Dr. M. Balakrishnan, former professor at IIT Delhi.

Vehant has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with IIIT-Delhi for sponsoring upto 5 students every year enrolled in M. Tech program, with an intent to create and build research collaboration with the academy for mutual as well as society’s benefit. This is a long-term engagement and Vehant has the benefit of the mindshare of the researchers at IIIT-Delhi. The researchers from the institute avail the opportunities of working on real life problems, data sets as well as a platform for design and development apart from funding. The program further led Vehant Fellows to join Vehant full time to work on the problems.
